Edla’s Place is Fairview’s newest addition to its Memory Support neighborhood. This innovative memory support area for residents with memory loss is the only one of its kind in the Chicago area. It uses the "Best Friend's" life enrichment approach, which delivers what a person with memory loss needs the most - caregivers who become best friends. Edla’s Place features specially designed hand-painted murals, antique props, many of which are interactive, and conversational seating areas.
Staff include a registered nurse who specializes in memory support services and other team members who are specifically trained to ensure that residents are served with dignity, respect, and compassion. Families are welcome and encouraged to visit regularly.
